Our Approach

In 2016, we learned about a proposal to partner with Easthampton Parks and Rec. for boat rentals on the pond. The bid had closed, but with no winner. As we had just moved into the town, we thought it would a great way to engage with our new community. So, when the RFP was released again in 2017, we got to work. The bid was set to close in the middle of a Nor'easter, but a blizzard was not going to hold us back! In February, we learned we had won the bid and that Valley Paddler would be born!

As recreational kayakers and parents to an active toddler, we are approaching this from a consumer point of view. We hope to provide a service to the people of Easthampton, and surrounding towns, with a varying array of boats and experiences at reasonable prices. Our fleet will include two pedal boats, two single kayaks, a tandem kayak, and a canoe. Paddlers of all ages and abilities will be able to get out onto Nashawannuck Pond, float in the view of Mount Tom, and explore the nature around Nonotuck Park.

We are very excited to start this new outfit, serving the Easthampton and Western Mass communities.

We will begin operations on the pond in May 2017!!

We are grateful to the town of Easthampton and the Parks and Recreation Department who have chosen us to provide this opportunity to our neighbors.
